Young Chris- 30 Days, 30 Verses (the mixtape)

Freeway is just wrapping (rappin) up his Month of Madness.  Little do most people know (or care about) fellow Rocafella alum Young Chris did this a month earlier.  I hope this dudes grind continues and he gets a decent deal with a decent label (I'm hoping he's the first member of the Roc Nation roster).  Some really good material on this tape.

"Shout out to Rick Ross, because I run this..."

Rick Ross dropped a great album this year, but no one gives a shit because his former occupation surfaced.  Prison guard or not, I've got love foo!

Young Chris and Wale mixtape in the works

This is an interview from back in November courtesy of hiphopgame.com

They talk about the mixtape the are working on together and their excitement for BLUEPRINT 3

I've been a fan of Young Chris for awhile. He's got flow, lyrics, and swag. i used to think Jay would pass the torch to him. boy was i wrong.
A mixtape with him and Wale would be insane. cant wait.

Young Jeezy's "Who Dat?" Video

One of the few low points of The Recession.  Good song, but sounds like it should be on a mixtape.

as an added bonus Heltah Skeltah's "Who Dat?"  off the classik Nocturnal

"This is a two way street, because every time i bust a nut you get something to eat..."

Me and my cohorts have had this plan for awhile now to put together our respective "top ten albums of 2008" list.  upon doing so, i have made it my duty to only listen to 2008 releases throughout the month of December.

i figure in order to properly rate the albums of this year, i can only compare them to other albums of this year.  basically it would be hard to get too hyped about Emeritus if i just got done bumping The Fix.

Also i want to make sure i really listen to all the releases, rather than just making a list of cds in order of my favorite to lease favorite rappers.  research.

wells enough of all of that, the official list aint leaking to the street until the new year.  just wanted to give my one reader a heads up on whats cooking.

in the meantime, tonights research brought me to 88 keys' Death of Adam.  When i first heard this album a couple months ago, i enjoyed the sound, nothing mind blowing by any means, but fun.

Tonight i liked it even less.  i read somewhere that originally 88 keys was working on a compilation album with other artist over his beats, no 88 keys' raps at all.  apparently it was Kanye West who convinced him to redo the whole project, because he was "impressed" with Keys' rap "skills".

I bet the original project was way better.  The beats are good and the only standout songs are the feature heavy ones (see Burning Bush featuring Redman and the first single, Stay Up featuring Kanye West).

Dont get me wrong,  Death of Adam is a definite worthwhile listen..  it just wont be making my top ten list.
